The initial roots of Arıkanlı Holding date back to 1972, the year in which MEF Courses Inc. was established. Over the thirty years, Arıkanlı Holding has excelled with enterprises in the fields of transportation, education, tourism, health care and construction to become firmly positioned in the centre of a chain of investments that comprise 11 robust companies today.
In 1996, as 11 companies converged under a single roof with the common purpose of 'Designation, Co-ordination, Development and Direction of Strategy', the initial foundation of the Holding was laid. Soon thereafter, on 11 February 1998, Arıkanlı Holding Inc. was officially registered to begin its range of operations.
All the companies under Arıkanlı Holding are known for their firsts in their fields. Each Arıkanlı Holding Company is recognized both nationwide and abroad for its achievements and innovations, including such pioneers as MEF Educational Institutions and Yurtiçi Kargo, both of which have considerably broadened Turkey's horizon in their respective fields.
The principles that have elevated Arıkanlı Holding to its present position have never been compromised since its inception. The strategic management outlook of the Holding rests on the premise that the precondition to secure economic and social advancement is achievable solely through solid commitment to the principles of international free competition within the sphere of a democratic order and as ordained by the law. A solid case in point to is the joint venture protocol that Arıkanlı Holding has signed with Tibbett & Britten Group, one of world's major logistics companies, on 30 July 2003, to establish an equal partnership. Similarly, Yurtiçi Kargo's launch of a partnership with DPD and Chronopost International, companies of GeoPost Group, operating under the French La Poste Group, and its gaining access to the foreign partners' land and air transport capabilities is another net effect of the Holding's strategy towards international growth. This new enterprise, incorporated as GeoPost Yurtiçi Kargo Inc. on 11 November 2003, not only propels the company to a highly competitive position in international shipments, but also offers the flexibility to invest jointly in third countries employing GeoPost's international distribution network.
Thus, the progress towards the objective to compete in global markets is fully under way with an effective organization, in the center of which Arıkanlı Holding stands.
Of particular focus within the companies, aside from improvements in current operational levels, increases in efficiencies and administrative, fiscal, technical and workforce co-ordination as well as close collaboration among the companies, is the validation that Arıkanlı Holding is valued and felt as one large family by its 10,000 employees.
